The Price of Progress?

This is a slide show documenting the devastation wrought by erroneous concepts of progress. They were taken near Iquitos and in the area of the Rio Corriente by witnesses and victims. They show oil polluted streams, the sources of village drinking water; a woman dying of chemical poisoning; unlined waste pits; and logs illegally cut from National Parks on their way to market. None of this is progress, economic development, or good business. It is worse than regressive and backward looking; it is cruel and evil.
